Martha
Rivenbark
May 6, 1927 — Dec 7, 2020
Martha Piner Rivenbark, 93, of Wallace, left her earthly life for her eternal rest on Monday, December 7, 2020.
She was born on May 6, 1927 in Pender County; the daughter of the late Archie Piner, Sr. and Mary Rivenbark Piner. Mrs. Rivenbark was also preceded in death by her husband, Mance Rivenbark; her son, Terry Piner; her daughter, Julia P. Wurtz; granddaughter, Melanie Russell and her six siblings, Robert Piner, Edith Padgett, Lorene Stevens, Luke Jamon Piner, David Piner, Thelma Malpass and Mary Cavanaugh.
Martha attended Willard Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Emily Brock of Beulaville and Carole R. Canady and husband, Edgar of Hope Mills; grandchildren, Melissa Wallace and husband, David of Rose Hill, Mary Hardison and husband, Tony of Beulaville, Mance Wurtz of Texas; Teresa Pudwill and wife, Amanda, Christy Jones and husband, Bryan of Mt. Olive and Kayla Canady of Hope Mills ; great grandchildren, Richie Barnes, Kristian Arneson, Darren Wallace, Lane Jones, Emma Jones, Aurora Arneson and Zachery Pudwill; great grandchildren, Michael Thomas and Ashner Thomas; caregiver and special friend, Becky Pugh and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Martha dearly.
Martha was a loving mother and caring grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. She married a tobacco farmer years ago, but she learned the value of hard work from a childhood. Being the dedicated worker, she always worked hard to help provide for her children. Due to her upbringing and work ethic, Martha was a strong willed and determined lady; but with that, she was a lovable and gracious person. Martha was great seamstress and enjoyed doing alterations for people. She was the happiest when she was doing simple things like working in her garden, cracking pecans and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Martha will surely be missed but for those who knew and loved her, she will always be loved and never forgotten.
