Martha Dail Tingley, age 100, of Wilmington passed gently from her earthy life Friday, November 1, 2019 at Accordius Health.

She was born June 25, 1919 in Magnolia, the daughter of the late Leslie Daniel Dail, Sr. and Delilah Cooper Dail. Also remembered is her husband, Egbert Tingley who preceded Martha in death.

Martha is survived by her nieces, Susan Inman and her husband, Keith and Mary Nunalee and her husband, Marshall; and grandson, Bryan Littin and his wife, Joanie.

Martha was a very intelligent young lady and as a youth chose a career that few women pursued in that era. She received a master's degree and worked for many years as a bacteriologist at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC.

She loved her family and was a very special much loved aunt. Her presence on this earth will be missed.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville where she will be laid to rest with her Dail family. The Rev. Merrell McKoy will conduct the service.
