Martin John Boyko, 69, of Atkinson passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 31, 2011.

He was born August 1, 1941 in Hartford, CT and was the son of the late John S. Boyko and Sophie Szerjko Boyko. His sister, Stephanie Przelomiec also preceded him in death.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years, Rita Boyko; sons, Robert Boyko (Cymry) of Bluff City, TN and Eric Boyko (Rozalyn) of Roseboro, NC; daughter, Tamara Violette of Atkinson, NC; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Boyko and several nieces and nephews.

Martin served his country honorably in the US Marine Corps and as a police officer for 23 years in Bloomfield, CT.

Memorial service will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.
