Martin John Violette, age 18, of Atkinson passed from his earthly life on Monday, March 19, 2012 in Pender County.

He was born September 20, 1993 in Brattleboro, Vermont, the son of Tamara "Tammy" Boyko Violette of Atkinson and Keith Paul Violette of Williamsville, Vermont. Also lovingly remembered are Martin's grandfathers, Martin "Marty" Boyko and Roland Violette, who both preceded Martin in death.

In addition to his mother and father, Martin is survived by his sister, Gabrielle Violette; brother, Kyle Violette both of Atkinson; grandmothers, Rita Boyko of Atkinson and Cecile Heliniski and her husband, George, of Bloomfield, Connecticut; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Martin was an excellent student at Pender Early College where he had many friends. Music, hunting and fishing were among Martin's favorite pastimes. His jovial personality, joy in life, and intellectual skills were counted as his some of his greatest assets. Martin had a very generous heart and was always willing to help others as he helped collect funds for the people in Haiti. Most important was Martin's love for his family and friends. Cherished memories of Martin will forever remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw with Martin's family officiating. Following the funeral service the family will receive friends at the funeral home until 8:00 p.m.
