Marvin Lavern Melton, Jr., age 65, of Holly Ridge passed away Friday, January 6, 2017.

He was born February 27, 1951 to the Marvin Melton, Sr. and Alice Melton.

Marvin worked on the family farm. He enjoyed cooking for the people he loved, including his dogs.

Left to remember him are son, Robert Melton of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Victoria Brunk of Hampstead, NC, Kristen Melton of Steubenville, OH, and Carol Shumaker Austin (Chris) of Winchester, VA; brother, Stewart Melton(Lana) of Milford, KS; sisters, Faye Bailey (Russell) of Holly Ridge, NC, Debbie Melton of Holly Ridge, NC, and Tammy Shuler (Brad) of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Cory, Tess, Kayla, Luke, Brandon, Nikki, Mason, and Erica; three great-grandchildren; and a number of faithful canine companions.

Preceding Marvin in death are his father Marvin Melton Sr. and his sister Jackie Rich.

Services will be held 4:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Providence Baptist Church; 406 Ocean Hwy, Holly Ridge, NC 28445.
