For 93 years our world was blessed by the life of Marvin Patrick “Pat” Wells who passed from his earthly life Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
He was born September 3, 1932 in Pender County, the son of Floyd Nicholas Wells and Mildred Judson Croom Murray.
Marvin is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Wells Johnson and husband, Joab F. Johnson III and Marian Wells Adcock; grandchildren, Emma Ruth Tart and husband, Austin, Harrison Joab “Joe” Wells Johnson and fiancée Ashton, Hannah Weir and husband, Justin, and Cody Adcock; great grandchildren, Gray Johnson Tart, Liam, Theodore, and Oliver; niece, Sharon Wells; nephew, Pete Wells; many extended family and friends.
Marvin proudly served a tour of duty in the US Army. He was a graduate of Miller-Motte Business College. Marvin was a faithful member of Moores Creek Baptist Church. He was a devoted member of King Solomon Lodge #138 and Pender County Shrine Club. All of Marvin’s adult life he was Pender County farmer and he loved tilling the soil, raising his crops, and seeing the fruits of his labors harvested year after year.
Marvin was the BEST granddad and was never too busy to stop whatever he was doing and give his grands his full attention. What fun times they had together. Marvin was a hard worker and always busy – keeping his yard manicured, fixing farm equipment, and best of all spending time with family. Marvin was a quiet spoken, kind and thoughtful of others man who will be truly missed.
The graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026 at Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Roger Barnes conducting the service. Following the service the family will receive friends at the cemetery.
