Obituary

Mary Bell Rivenbark Bond, age 75, of Burgaw and formerly of Wilmington died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 4, 1936 in Pender County and was one of nine children born to David M. and Fannie Bell English Rivenbark. Preceding Mary in death were her parents; brothers, Carl Rivenbark, Roland Rivenbark and Horace Rivenbark and sister, Martha Ellen Rivenbark.

Mary is survived by her brothers, Tommie Rivenbark of Portsmouth, Virginia, Jimmie Rivenbark (Mamie) of Benson and Billy O. Rivenbark (Melba) of Willard; sister, Virginia Blanton (Wayne) of Burgaw; and many nieces and nephews.

For many years Mary was employed with France Neckwear Company in Wilmington. In 2009 Mary made a confession of faith and joined Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mary loved her family and showed it in her own special way. She greatly enjoyed cooking and taking pictures at family gatherings. With her lively personality, Mary always enjoyed a good time with family and friends. Cherished memories of Mary will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church with The Rev. John Barnes officiating.
