Obituary

Mrs. Mary E. "Libby" Marley Brinkley, age 84, of Huntingtown, Maryland and formerly of Wallace-Chinquapin area went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Alton R. Marley and Cora Murray Marley and step mother Catherine Marley Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband James D."Puddin" Brinkley and special sister in law Eleanor Wallace Brinkley.

She is survived by her son, James R. Brinkley, of Maryland; daughters; Susan Hall and husband Tom of Kinston, North Carolina; Linda Reamy and husband Joey; and Pamela Wood and husband Bill, all of Maryland; 8 grandchildren, Tommy Hall and wife Misty; Todd Hall and wife Leigh Anne; and Kristen Hall, all of North Carolina, Joette Pusey and husband John, Becki Deale and husband Jason, Tim Stanton, Lindsay Wood, and Billy Wood, all of Maryland; 7 great grandchildren: Ryan Hall, Lacey Hall, Joey Pusey, Jillian Pusey, Jacob Pusey, Collin Deale and Brady Deale and many Brinkley nephews and nieces who were faithful and meant a lot to her during her life and illness as well as many Murray cousins.

There was a visitation in Maryland at Rausch Funeral Home on Broomes Island Road in Port Republic, Maryland on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 6 - 8 pm.

The funeral service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace, NC with the Reverend Jim B. Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow the service at Brinkley Family Cemetery on Durwood Evans Rd. in Chinquapin.

Visitation will also be held on Friday, June 28th from 6 - 8 pm and on Saturday, June 29th from 10 - 11 am, one hour prior the service.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Hall, Todd Hall, Tim Stanton, Billy Wood, Ryan Hall and Joey Pusey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Mrs. Brinkley grew up in the Tin City area and loved and enjoyed her many Murray family members. She and her husband later moved to Chinquapin and farmed for several years. She had many family members and friends there whom she loved. In August 1965 they moved to Maryland. She worked with Frito Lay, Shoppers Food and took care of her husband and family. They retired in 1985 and became managers of Christ Child Camp for the Christ Child Society in St. Leonard, Maryland.
Libby was a member of Hughesville Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school and church as long as she was able. She was a hard worker and took great pride in preparing food for family gatherings. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Burnett Calvert Hospice House , P.O. 838/ 238 Merrimac Court, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
