Mary Angeline Benfield Emory, 72, of Currie passed from her earthly life on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

She was born October 6, 1943 in Charlotte, one of 17 children of the late Brady T. and Thelma B. Pope Benfield. Also lovingly remembered is her husband, James William Emory Sr. and grandson, James F. Baker both who preceded Mary in death.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Jennie Emory and her son, Dustin Emory, Mary B. Gagnier (Steven), and Priscilla Gagnier (Michael); sons, James Brady Emory (Paula) and James W. Emory, Jr.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many extended family and friends.

Mary loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mary found great joy in the simplest things in life, but most important was her beloved family. She enjoyed Bingo games and in years past, fishing. Mary's passing leaves a empty place in our hearts and in our home. Cherished memories of Mary will remain in our hearts.

A gathering of family and friends will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the home of Mary and Steve Gagnier, 4858 Point Caswell Road, Atkinson, NC
