Mary James Hurlburt, age 51, of Rocky Point died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her residence.

She was born October 23, 1957 in Wilmington.

Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Hatcher of Rocky Point; sons, Robert Hatcher of Wilmington, Michael Hatcher, Jr. and Jose Reyna, Jr. both of Rocky Point; grandchildren, Rigo Garcia, Jr. and Samira Garcia; sisters, Wanda Jacobs and Teresa Padgett both of Rocky Point and many additional extended family and friends.

Mary loved her family dearly and showed her love in many ways. Her grandchildren were the joy and light of her life. Being a plain spoken lady, one always knew how they stood with Mary as she always said what was on her mind. Oh! How Mary loved to take pictures of everybody and everything. She was the family photographer. Mary will be fondly remembered for her caring manner, gentle spirit and warm heart.

Graveside funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Prospect Cemetery, Wilmington with Pastors Bryan and Tammy Simmons officiating.

The family will be at the home of Jennifer Hatcher, 642 North Drive, Rocky Point, NC 28457.
