Obituary

Mary Lilly Williams Johnson, 84, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

Born December 25, 1929, in New Hanover County, she was the daughter of the late Edward D. and Bessie Walker Williams. She was also predeceased by her husband, David Gordon Johnson and her sister, Dollie Mae Henderson.

She was a member of Wells Chapel Baptist Church.

Surviving is her son, Mitchell Dean Johnson and wife, Anne of Wilmington, granddaughters, Nicole Johnson and Ashley Rosenberg, also of Wilmington; great grandchildren, Grayson Rosenberg and Bella Rosenberg; sister-in-law, Carolyn Spell and husband, Norman of Colonial Heights, VA; special friend, Louise Bradshaw of Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary Lillie had a deep love for her family and friends. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace, an instrument of God's love on this earth. She was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle and loving presence to all who were blessed to know her. Mary Lillie will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Wells Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Wells Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 11:00am to 12:00pm, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
