Mary Edith "Boodie" McLamb passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

She was born on April 17, 1937 in Johnston County, daughter of the late Wilson and Lillie McGee.  She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Robert "Odia" McLamb, her son Robert "Robbie" Odia McLamb, Jr. and sister Athelene Langdon.

Left to cherish this beautiful and loving soul is her son Reid McLamb, daughter Denise Wood and husband Mark, two precious granddaughters, Jessica Sneed and husband Ryan, Cortney McLamb and her fella Storm Wardenfelt.  Her real "favorites" were her two great-grandchildren, Hutson and Carolina Sneed.  She also leaves behind four loving sisters, Margie Baker, Brenda Johnson-Wester, Malinda Pope and husband Charles and Kay Dean.  She loved spending time with them and especially traveling together.

Boodie, as she was referred to, was the epitome of the word love.  She was her family's "Rock".  She always put everyone before herself and she provided happiness to everyone that knew her.  She was a woman of strong faith that loved and served our Lord.  Her smile and cooking was one of a kind.  She enjoyed working in her yard, traveling and always helping others.

In previous years, she worked with Senior Helpers and more recently she was the Caregiver for Mr. Mooneyham, whom she loved him and his family dearly and "adopted" them as her own.

The family wishes to thank Caroline, Meg, Beth, Brittany and "J" for their loving care and support during her final days at home.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 between 5-7 pm at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home, 315 Willow Woods Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina 28409.  A funeral service will be held to celebrate Boodie's life at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home, 315 Willow Woods Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina 28409 on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11 am with Pastor Don Yerby officiating.  The burial will follow the service at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina 28409.
