Mary Joyce Bryant Parker, age 74, of Rocky Point, left this life for her eternal rest on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from Brian Center of Wallace.

She was born March 8, 1938 in Duplin County, the daughter of the late John Cleveland and Mary Tula Knowles Bryant. She is also predeceased by her son, Anthony Ray Parker; sister, Carolyn Raynor and brother, J.C. Bryant.

Surviving is her husband of 56 years, Milton Ray Parker of the home; sons, Bryan Parker of Rocky Point, Mike Parker (Linda), of Rocky Point, and David Parker (Mary) of Watha; grandchildren, Anthony Bryan Pickett, Christopher Bryan Parker, Courtnie Lynn White (James) and Joshua Parker (Anna); great grandchildren, Haley, Ethan and Brody White, Candice Gmytruk and Ayden Parker; sister, Jewel Smith (John) of Rocky Mount; brother, Clayton Bryant (Wanda) of Rose Hill and numerous nieces, nephew and friends.

Joyce was a member of Riley's Creek Baptist Church.

Joyce was a devoted wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family dearly. Being a diligent homemaker and great cook, she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered. Joyce was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. She was a strong, courageous yet gentle woman who brought out the good in all those who were near and dear to her. Joyce's family is grateful for her life, her love and her steadfast faith in God.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating.

Burial will follow in Riley's Creek Memorial Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Anthony Pickett, Joshua Parker, Christopher Parker, Chris Lee, Eddie Norris and George Rigby.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.

Memorial gifts may be given to Riley's Creek Baptist Church, Ladies Sunday School Class, 19845 NC Hwy 210, Rocky Point, NC 28457.
