Obituary

Mary Ann Rivenbark, 96, of Burgaw, a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed gently from her earthly life on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Leland House.

She was born June 19, 1918 in Pender County, the daughter of the late Herbert and Josephine Rackley Blanton. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Danny Ray Rivenbark and Ronny S. Rivenbark; and sisters, Hazel Wood, Vada English and Eileen Fussell

Ann is survived by her daughters, Gloria R. Herman (Jeffry) and Patricia R. Pridgen (Dennis "Pat"); daughters-in-law, Sandra Rivenbark and Vicki Rivenbark; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and extended family.

First and foremost Ann was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Wallace as long as her health permitted. She was the BEST mom and a loving grandmother with a gentle spirit, but had a firm hand when it came to discipline. Being a good cook and wonderful homemaker, she created a home filled with love and sunshine. Ann loved the outdoors, especially working in her yard. Mary's sweet, sweet spirit, her steadfast faith in her Lord and her gentle smile will always be remembered.
