Obituary

Mary Sisson Sadler, 72, of Rocky Point passed peacefully from her earthly life on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 12, 1941 in Charlotte, the daughter of the late Richard Stanley Sisson and Catherine Olivia Batts Beasley.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Jennifer Sadler; grandchildren, Tyler Sadler, Olivia Sadler and Jackson Sadler; and brother, Stanley Sisson.

She was a Registered Nurse, graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte. Having a long dedicated nursing career, Mary worked at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital, Pender Memorial Hospital and retired from NC Department of Corrections (Pender County Correctional Facility). Mary was a faithful member of Rocky Point United Methodist Church.

Not only was Mary a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister, but a generous friend to all who knew her. She brought a great deal of grace, charm and light into this world. Her joy of life and radiant smile will not be forgotten by family and friends.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Rocky Point United Methodist Church with The Rev. Bill Braswell, The Rev. E. J. Highsmith, and the Rev. John Ormond officiating. A fellowship meal and visitation in the church fellowship hall will follow the service.
