Mrs. Mary "Louise" Todd departed from this life on Monday, April 16, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born on January 16, 1919 to the late Edward and Annie Hart, Louise was the only daughter with four brothers who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Todd, Sr.

Louise was the "hub" of her family wheel. Everyone knew they were expected to show up for Sunday dinner and all holidays too. Louise worked in sales at Roses, Newell's, and last but not least, Winter Park Drug Store. Her co-workers, who were her adopted family, loved her and she loved them. They described her as a role model with the highest of standards, wonderful work ethics and very loyal. Customers would sometimes come to where she worked just to see her. Louise loved her job and that kept her going. Louise worked until about 4 weeks ago and was planning to return to work this week.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her son, William Theodore "Ted" Todd, Jr. of Hampstead; daughter, Rita Todd Spivey (Richard) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Eddie Todd, Pam Todd Stroud (J.D.), R. Sean Spivey (Becky); great grandchildren, Larry Villarreal (Kat), Melisia Todd, Parran Spivey and Kate Spivey and great-great grandchildren, Elgon, Jordan, Alexa and Arianna.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilmington with the Rev. Davey Waggett officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mary Todd.
