Mary Wingard Oswald Wilson (Aunt Sug), 86, of Wallace passed away on Wednesday morning, October 16, 2013, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Wilmington.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Columbus County on April 30, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Harry Lee and Polly Davis Oswald of Wallace. She was preceded in death by her brother Harry Lee (Sonny) Oswald, III and a niece Margaret Highsmith Johnson Pearce.
Upon graduation from Whiteville High School and Pineland College, Mrs. Wilson joined her family publishing business, H. L. Oswald Enterprises where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wallace.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her sister Sue Carl Oswald Johnson and sister-in-law Anntilla Scott Oswald, both of Wallace, and five nieces, Jamie Sue Johnson Moore and husband Mike of Carolina Beach, Lee Johnson of Wilmington, Emily Scott Oswald Beaman and husband Hugh of Wilson, Ann Davis Oswald Weaver and husband Gary, and Mary Hart Oswald Blackburn and husband Michael, all of Wallace. Mrs. Wilson is also survived by great-nieces Mary Margaret Johnson Pearce of Wrightsville Beach, Mary Lila and Elizabeth Oswald Blackburn of Wallace, and great-nephew James Stewart Oswald Moore of Carolina Beach.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Mrs. Wilson's home with Dr. Alan Thompson officiating.
