Maurice Glenn Anderson, age 61, of Watha left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Monday, January 9, 2017.
He was born on March 28, 1955 in Hampton, Va and was the son of the late Maurice Elbert and Elli Solger Anderson. He was also predeceased by his brother, James Anderson.
Surviving is his daughter, Heather Anderson of Burgaw; his son, Glenn Anderson and wife Nichole of Burgaw; grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner and Toby Sawyer; brother, Randy Anderson and wife Shelby; sisters, Bridget A. Murphy and husband, David and Cheryl A. Rivenbark and husband Steve, all of Watha and special friend, Tracy Rivenbark; his loyal companion, "Red Man" and numerous nieces, nephew and friends.
Glenn or "Smilie" as he was affectionately called was a loving father and caring brother. He enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a smile. Glenn was employed the NC Forest Service for 26 years until his retirement in 2009. He developed many friends during these years that helped him thru some difficult days of his illness. Smilie will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Watha United Methodist Church with John Federonko officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00pm on Friday evening at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
