Melinda Lucille Willetts Swinson, 54, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend and Christian missionary was called to her heavenly home by the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2022.
She was born September 28, 1967 in Wilmington, the daughter of Jearleen Horrell Willetts and the late William Sidbury Willetts. In addition to her father Melinda was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Willetts.
Melinda is survived by her mother, Jearleen Willetts; children, Charles Swinson (Fray), Chris Swinson (Savannah), Alyssa Gainey ( Jarrell), and Aaron Michael Swinson; nine grandchildren; sisters, Cathy Lipe and Sharon Alford (George King); and many extended family members, all who dearly loved Melinda.
Melinda "Linda" Swinson was a dedicated and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece, aunt, and friend. She loved God with all her heart and had a such a resounding faith in her Heavenly Father. She had a big heart and was always willing to help others, a true representation of "Love thy Neighbor." A proud lifelong member of the Rocky Point Freewill Holiness Church, where she enjoyed singing and worshipping the Lord. She never missed a chance to tell anyone about her Savior and would always tell others "I'm blessed and highly favored." She was a beautiful light in this world. She will be dearly missed and loved forever.
The memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Rocky Point Freewill Holiness church with Pastor Teresa Ammons, Pastor Susan Craven and Pastor Rodney Bonham conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
With heartfelt appreciation the family of Linda would like to thank the staffs of Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for the excellent and compassionate care given to Linda. Also, for loving support to the family.
