Michael "Mickey" Lee Bradshaw, age 69, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Friday, October 11, 2013 from Vidant Hospital, Greenville.
He was born January 25, 1944 in Duplin County; the son of Louise Jones Bradshaw of Wallace and the late Rifton Lee Bradshaw. He was also predeceased by his grandson, Perry Bennette.
Mickey served his country honorably in the US Navy and was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his loving wife of 27 years, Kay Giddeons Bradshaw; daughter, Monica Bradshaw Bennette of Wallace; son, Michael Brandon Bradshaw and wife, Brooke of Kenansville; granddaughter, Kaylee Bradshaw; sister, Tanya Bradshaw Robinson and husband, Dan of Wallace; brothers, Tony Bradshaw and wife, Loetta of Teachey, Tommy Bradshaw and wife, Jane of Rose Hill, Luke Bradshaw and wife, Teresa of Wallace; numerous nieces, nephews and friends that loved Mickey.
Mickey was devoted husband and caring son, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family dearly. He was a hard worker and great provider for his family. Being an outdoorsman, Mickey enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf at which he was very competitive. His favorite basketball team was Duke and every team that played Carolina. Mickey was a loving, compassionate man who was always willing to lend a helping hand where needed. He was a giver and expected nothing in return. Mickey will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Mickey Bradshaw.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Island Creek Baptist Church in Rose Hill with the Reverend Dr. Ronald Ginn officiating. Burial will follow in Little Creek Cemetery, Rose Hill.
Casketbearers will be Linwood Patterson, Dean Brown, Rufus Rouse, Joe Teachey, David Register, Gene Cavenaugh, Roger Parker and Tony Graham Bradshaw.
Honorary casketbearers will be Glenn Bradshaw and the Upper Room Sunday School Class of Island Creek Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, one hour prior the service on Monday at Island Creek Baptist Church and on Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 pm until, at the home of Luke and Teresa Bradshaw.
