He was born on March 4, 1956, in Washington DC to the late Joseph Ralph and Ruth Fulmer Russell from District Heights Maryland.
Mike was a devout Catholic who was an active member of Transfiguration of Jesus Catholic Church in Wallace, North Carolina. Mike built his own private investigating company and was very successful for over 40 years in Virginia, Maryland and the DC area. His partners, Rick and Mark will carry on his legacy.

Mike was a loving husband and brother who loved his family with all his heart. He was an avid golfer and a lover of Golden Retrievers. Over the years he and Carole cared for ten golden retrievers, and the most recent is Riley and Rocco. Mike's passion was helping others. With a heart full of compassion, he took care of everyone. He was a people's person who was always looking for a way to make life easier for others. Mike was very good at giving sound advice to those who asked and even to some who didn't ask. He loved a challenge and could always make the 'impossible' become possible. Many of the people Mike met became his extended family. He was fondly called "Uncle Mike" to many that knew him. Near the end of this life, Mike made the statement that he wanted more time here to take care of people. He touched so many lives during his life and will be greatly missed. He was truly a giver and servant of God.
