Michael Dale Powell, age 58, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on, December 25, 2022, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on November 9, 1964, in Wilmington, NC to the late Robert Horace Powell and Barbara Ann (Melton) Powell.

Mike, a dirt bike and motorcycle enthusiast, loved the ocean and Tarheel basketball. He enjoyed playing baseball and collecting die-cast trucks of all kinds.

Most of all, Mike loved his family. He was a good man and a great dad and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Mike loved his pets and they will miss him too. He loved to tinker in his shed and hang out with his pets.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sandy Powell; his son, Bradley Wright; his brother, Bobby Powell, Jr. and wife, Becky; sisters, Cindy Goodwyn and husband, Bill, Rebecca Meshaw and husband, Terry; grandson, Tucker Bradley Wright; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Dale Powell; and his sister, Celeste Diane Powell.

A memorial service will be held at Liberty Church in Wilmington on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Gene Tilly officiating.
