Mildred Hicks Clifton, age 83, of Burgaw and formerly of Wake County died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Huntington Health Care of Burgaw.

She was born December 20, 1924 in Wake County, the daughter of the late Charlie Wilson Medlin and Annie Owens Medlin. She was predeceased by her husband, John William Hicks, Sr. in 1979 and later married William Ray Clifton who died in 2005.

Mildred loved her family dearly and was loved in return. She will be forever missed, but never forgotten by her loving family.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan Bloodworth and husband, Jim of Burgaw; son, John W. Hicks, Sr. and wife, Marcia of Raleigh; grandchildren, Chad Hicks, Melanie Hicks, Wendi Bird and Roben Bloodworth; five great grandchildren; and sisters, Clara Cox of Carolina Beach and Rachael Wilder of Angier.

A graveside service and interment of Mildred Hicks Clifton's cremains in Raleigh Memorial Park will be at a later date.
