Mildred Padgett Jones, age 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, March 26, 2009 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 24, 1932 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Oscar Ransom and Lillian English Padgett. She was also predeceased by her son, Michael Jones; sisters, Ethel Anderson, Ruby Smith and Pearline Rivenbark and brother, Junious Padgett.

Surviving are her devoted husband of fifty-nine years, James Jones of the home; her loving children, Randy Jones and wife, Lynne of Penderlea, Diane Mills and husband, Lawrence of Watha and Travis Jones of Wallace; grandchildren, Lisa Jones, Amy Jones, Britt Jones, Susan Parks and husband, Chad and Jerry L. Mills III; great granddaughter, Kinsley Lynne Parks; sister, Julia Raynor Lewis and husband, Junior of Wilmington; step-sister, Carolyn Foreman of Cherokee and step-brother, Sam Padgett and wife, Louise of Garner.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral at Watha United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Watha United Methodist Church with the Reverend John P. Fedoroko officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Jones family would like to especially thank Dr. Linda Calhoun for the special loving care she gave their wife and mother during her illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
