Obituary

Mildred Alice Ogden, age 85, of Watha passed peacefully from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born October 16, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Allen and Audrey Coleman Staton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Richard Dorson Ogden and great granddaughter, Norah.

Surviving are her sons, Larry R. Ogden and his wife, Linda D., of Watha and David G. Ogden and his wife, Donna L., of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Todd R. Ogden (Holly), Kimberly L. Longenbach (Jim), Sunny L. Nelson (Travis) and Joshua D. Ogden (Abby); great grandchildren, Paige, Rachel, Emily, Rebecca, Aaron, Petros, Nathan, Felix and Matthew; and brother, Lyle Staton of Buena Vista, Virginia.

Mrs. Ogden was retired from Nitschman Junior High School Cafeteria where she served as head cook for many years. She was a member of Lehigh Valley Grace Brethren Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and attended Bible Baptist Church in Burgaw.

Mildred was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She and Richard created a Christian home filled with sunshine and joy, setting a wonderful example for their children and grandchildren. Remembered are her kindness to others, her beautiful smile and her gentle spirit. Cherished memories of Mildred will remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Dan Robelen officiating. Prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. the family will receive friends at the funeral home until time of the service.

Graveside service and burial will be on Tuesday in Bethlehem Memorial Park, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
