On May 21st, 2026, our beautiful momma, Minnie Roethlinger Lunsford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family along with the great staff at Trinity Grove that had grown to love her as well.

She was born on February 20, 1941, in Hallsboro, NC to the late Milburn and Virginia Maultsby.

She was lovingly known as Ms. Minnie and Granny. She loved worshiping the Lord and sharing his amazing love for us. She was a faithful member in the earlier years of Long Leaf Baptist Church, then Peace Baptist. She met her husband Gerald, and they were members of Grace Baptist and Freedom Baptist.

Our mother was the heart of our family.

She spent 43 years married to her first love Richard and raised her three children. She had such a giving and loving heart. Always nurturing and ready to feed everyone a big southern home cooked meal. Always putting her family first.

Survived by her children, Susan Roethlinger-Riggs (Glenn), Ricky Roethlinger (Ericka), Nancy Campbell (Ray); her sisters, Margaret Feeley, Millie Maready; her grandchildren, Jeremy Riggs (Jill) of Maui, Hawaii Zach Riggs (Sydney), Tiffany Gainey, Rena Roethlinger, Hunter Gainey (Olivia), Devin Foy, Zeke Glenn of Wilmington; great grandchildren, Natalie and Ruby Riggs of Maui, Hawaii, Bobby Blake, A'leinadye Henry, Sophia Koonce, Huck Riggs, and Waylon Gainey.

In addition to her parents, Minnie was also preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Richard Roethlinger, Sr.; her second husband of 21 years, Gerald Lunsford; and her sisters, Florene Humphrey and Barbara Budner.

The family would like to thank the most amazing staff of caregivers at Trinity Grove Memory Care of Wilmington as well as Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Grove or Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
