Obituary

Morris "Marcie" Grey Tucker, age 78, of Clinton left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Sunday, February 13, 2011 from Sampson Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 15, 1932 in Harnett County and was the daughter of the late Artemus and Mary Overby Williams. She was predeceased by her sister, Lois Pearman and brothers, Billy Williams, Ralston Williams and Martin Parrish.

Mrs. Tucker was a member of Rockhill Baptist Church in Stafford, Virginia.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Julian G. Tucker of the home; daughter, Debra Phillips and husband, Gary of Mercer, Pennsylvania; sons, Glenn Tucker and wife, Cindy of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Ronnie Tucker and fiancee, Britt Jackman of Purcellville, Virginia; grandchildren, Julian C. Tucker and Eric Jackman; sisters, Evon Brockwell of Chapel Hill, Alice Jones and husband, David and Alma Reid and husband, Clyde, all of Aberdeen; brother, Jimmy Parrish of Liberty; sisters-in-law, Katie Williams of Raleigh and Brownie Parrish of Southern Pines; Kelly Tucker of South Riding, Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Ray Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park in Watha.

Casketbearers will be Julian C. Tucker, Eric Jackman, Steven Wood, Wayne Brockwell, Ricky Jones and Clyde Reid, Jr.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Lathan English, David Jones, Clyde Reid, Tim Williams, Billy Williams, Jr. and Harvey Knowles.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 pm, one hour prior the funeral service on Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace and other time at the Tucker's home.

Marcie was a devoted wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed dancing, shopping and especially spending time with her family. With a big heart and great sense of humor, she brought out the good in all who were near and dear to her. Marcie will be greatly missed but cherished memories of her will remain in our hearts forever.
