Moses Clayton Jones, age 91, of Willard passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 from his residence.
He was born on October 11, 1928 in Pender County; the son of the late John William and Katie Walker Jones. He was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 70 years, Mary Cavenaugh Jones; grandson Bradley Sean Jones; siblings, Pervie Daniel Jones, Tommie Jones, George Jones, John David Jones, Marie Murray and Lillie Baker.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his devoted children, Terry Clayton Jones and wife Freda, Brenda Sue West and husband, Kenneth of Goldsboro and Theresa Faye Lanier and husband, Kenneth of Willard; grandchildren, Shannon Lanier, Ginger Christianson and husband, Terry, Paul Lanier and wife, Mary, Steven Jones and wife, Laura Beth and Angela West Turner and husband, Brad; great grandchildren, Blake Stokes and his special friend, Ashley, Coty Lanier and his special friend, Jessica, Clay Lanier, Brailey Jones and wife, Ana Maria, Haley Jones, Wesley Jones, Kaylee Turner, Ashtyn Turner and Cam Ryan Turner; great-great grandchildren, Hudson Jones and Niko Jones; brother, Charles E. Jones of Niceville, FL; special friend, Jules and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Moses Clayton dearly.
Clayton was a loving father and caring grandfather and brother. He found great joy in the simplest things, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Clayton was a man tall in stature but gentle in nature. His warmth and loving spirit greatly impressed those he met. Clayton enjoyed being outside in God's beautiful world. He loved people and was loved in return. A man of great integrity, Clayton will be missed by all who knew him. His family is grateful to God for his life and for your kindness, love and prayers.
There will be a family graveside at 11:00am on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Riverview Memorial Park with the Reverend Edward "Buddy" Dowd officiating.
