Magdaleno "Dino" Velasquez, age 40, of Burgaw died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Velasquez was born February 11, 1968 in Lalima Cortes, Honduras and was the son of Magdaleno Velasquez and Santos D. Aguilar of Honduras.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brothers, Armando Velasquez, Serafin Velasquez and Antonio Velasquez, all of Burgaw; sisters, Olga Velasquez, Rosa Velasquez, Cristina Velasquez, Nubia Velasquez, Norma Velasquez, all of Burgaw, Maria Velasquez and Delmis Velasquez both of New York; aunt, Maria R. Velasquez of Burgaw and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

\\"Dino\\" was a very caring and happy person who loved his family and friends very much. He brought a great deal of grace, charm and light into this world and his warmth and loving spirit greatly impacted everyone he met. He was loved by many and his joy of life will not be forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Pedro Bueno officiating.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
