Myron Earl "Bud" Teachey, age 85, of Rose Hill, left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

He was born on July 24, 1931 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Leadie Wright and Bertha Ella Murphy Teachey. Also lovingly remembered is his grandson, Eric Earl Teachey who passed away on May 26, 2015 and his sisters, Marguerite Cavenaugh and Mildred Lee Dubose.

Surviving is his best friend and loving wife of 67 years, Juanita Sumner Teachey; his devoted children, Leatha Teachey Pack of Rose Hill, Dwight Teachey (Karla) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Herschel Teachey (Judy) of Rose Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved "Bud" dearly.

"Bud", as he was affectionately known, was a devoted husband and caring father and grandfather. He loved farming and being outside in God's green earth. Being a man of great integrity he always wanted to do everything right. He was known by his family as "the best man who ever lived". Bud lived his life with a spirit of patience, gratitude, wonder and love. He was the happiest when he was doing simple things like plowing the fields, riding his tractor and spending time with his family. He loved the Lord, his family and his church. Bud will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Island Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Ronald Ginn officiating.

Burial will follow in Little Creek Cemetery, Wallace.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday evening at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
