Obituary

Myrtle Louise Blake Gregory, 86, of Watha passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Duplin General Hospital.

She was born March 21, 1926 in Cabarrus County and was the daughter of the late Lester James and Siddie Vanderford Sloop. Remembered is her husband, Harry Blake and later she married Romie "R.C." Gregory both who preceded Myrtle in death and her son, Jeffrey Lynn Blake who recently died.

Myrtle is survived by her sons, Tommy Blake and his wife, Faye, of Wilmington, Eugene Blake of Leland and Jimmy Blake and his wife, Connie of Watha; daughter, Melissa Heath of Greenville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Myrtle loved her family with all her heart and was a loving mother and grandmother. One of her favorite things was singing and praising the Lord in song. Other joys in life were floral arranging and being with and talking to people as she never met a stranger. First and foremost in her life was her faith and her family. Always remembered will be her loving smile, gentle laughter and her love of life and family.

Memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Penderlea Pentecostal Holiness Church with The Rev. Dean Walker officiating.
