Myrtle Marie Gurganus Register, 90 of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Friday, July 6th, 2018 from Day Spring Assisted Living of Wallace.

She was born February 7, 1928 in Onslow County; the daughter of the late Walter L. and Bessie Horne Gurganus. She was also predeceased by her husband, Walter C. Register, Jr.; her siblings, Jenell Gurganus, Howell Gurganus, Carl Gurganus and Don Gurganus.

Myrtle was a member of Willard Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving children, Wendy Karen Brisson (Charlie) of Wallace, Walter Gordan Register of Culpeper, VA, Watson Greg Register of Wallace and Wray B. Register, Sr. (LaDonna) of Willard; grandchildren, Jenell Brisson, Nancy Register, Reagan Register, Wray Register, Jr., Dana Sours (Rick), Chris Register and Justin Chapins; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Zella Van Bavel, Helena Holton and Shirley Jenkins and numerous family and friends that loved Myrtle dearly.

Myrtle was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister and friend. She found great joy in the simplest things, but her greatest joy was her family. She was a diligent homemaker and with a joyful spirit she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered. Being a good neighbor, a good cook and a true friend Myrtle was loved by all who knew her. Her family is grateful to God for her life and they consider themselves to be very blessed to have had such a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend David Knowles officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha, NC.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home, one hour prior the funeral service on Monday.
