Obituary

Myrtle N. Turner, age 82, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal home in Heaven on Friday, February 3, 2012 from the Brian Center of Wallace.

She was born June 18, 1929 in New Hanover County and was the daughter of the late Joe Ed Rivenbark and Maxine Rivenbark Russ. She is predeceased by her husband, Parker Amos Turner.

Surviving is her loving children, Aneta "Rosebud" Strickland and husband, Gene of Willard, Denae Antronet Hall of Hampstead, James Ronald "Buddy" Carpenter of New Bern and Arthur "Artie" Berton Carpenter of Chinquapin; grandchildren, Jerry Morton, Sandra Mobley, Elizabeth "Nancy" Rodrigues, Regan Register, Nicholas Mobley, Harlee James and Brianna Fawe; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Jack Russ of Wilmington and her church family.

Myrtle was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. With an unwavering commitment to live by God's Word, she was a great example to all who knew her. She was not only a mother, but she was a confidant and friend to all whose lives she touched. Myrtle was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. She was a strong, courageous and yet gentle woman who brought out the good in all those who were near and dear to her. Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved Myrtle.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Willard Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverend Rodney Bonham officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Blanton Family Cemetery in Willard.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, one hour prior the funeral service on Sunday at Willard Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
