Nancy Lee White Hicks went home to her rest and Heavenly Reward on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in Wilmington.

Born January 8, 1945, in Watha, N.C., Nancy, known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Nannie" was a monumental force within our family, and leaves many behind whom she loved unconditionally with her entire heart. Nancy was, among many things, a cook, painter, singer, and she worked for G.E. for twenty years before she retired. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Donnie Hicks (Linda Cunningham), April Mitchell (husband, "Bubba" Mitchell) and Russell Hicks (wife, Velvet Hicks); her grandchildren, Ashley Grantham, Madison Lennon (husband, Mike Lennon), Morgan Hicks, Levi Hicks, Kash Hicks and Elliott Hicks; her great grandchildren, M.J. Lennon and Masyn Lennon (soon to arrive); and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings: Lottie Wells, Buddy Walker (deceased), Julia Caianiello, Helen Barnhill and L.B. White (wife, Mitzi White).

Funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home with The Rev. Merrell McKoy conducting the service. There will be a time of visitation and fellowship at the funeral home following the service.
