Obituary

Naomi Etheridge Heath, age 82, of Rocky Point passed gently from her earthly life Friday, December 30, 2022 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

She was born February 7, 1940 in Swansboro, the daughter of Elmer E. Etheridge and Lila Morton Etheridge. In addition to her parents Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Gavin Gene Heath.

Naomi is survived by her daughters, Susan H. Rivenbark (Tim) and Norma G. Heath; son, Donald Health (Toni); grandchildren, Amber Rabalais (Charlie), Joshua Heath (Amanda), Chelsea Magil (Shaun), and Kirk Rivenbark; great grandchildren, Morgan, Josh, Brant, Madison, Noah, Colton, Jude, Addi, Jase, Cash, and Ace; one great great granddaughter; sisters, Sadie Sanders, Barbara Repsher, and Marie Etheridge; and many extended family members and friends, all who loved Naomi.

Naomi shared her talents working several different places during her working career. Many remember seeing Naomi working at the Long Creek Voting Polls where she made many friends. Her last and most enjoyable career was working for GLN Farm where she helped raise quail, ducks, chukars, pheasants, and bird dogs. Naomi not only loved and cared for animals, but was a loving, giving, sharing lady to family and her many friends. Naomi enjoyed cooking as every Sunday her hands, stove and pots were extra busy as a big meal was prepared for all who chose to come and dine. Her home door was open to all and no one ever left without a full tummy. Naomi's family was her love, pride and joy. Her presence in the family circle and wide circle of friends will be missed.

Naomi will be laid to rest at Scott-Peay Cemetery with a private family graveside service. A Celebration of Naomi's Life service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in memory of Naomi to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Minphis, TN 38101-9929.
