Obituary

Nelma Casteen Gray, age 76, of Beulaville died Monday, June 7, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 25, 1933 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Stephen Decatur Casteen, Sr. and Sinnie Dail Casteen. She was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill" Franklin Gray; her siblings, Letha Cavenaugh, Libby Dail, Lilly Henderson, Elwood Casteen and Mazie Ozment and her dearest friend, Ronald Rivenbark.

She is survived by her loving children, Windell Gray and wife, Deborah of Pink Hill, Winnie Gray Bond and husband, Doug of Wallace, Craig Gray and wife, Sonia, of Wallace and Sebelia Gray Sholar of Beulaville; grandchildren, Belinda Bond Brock, Hank Bond, Joseph Gray, Amanda Foy, Anthony Sholar, Donnie Sholar, Mickey Sholar, Rebecca Brock, Adam Gray, David Gray and Madison Gray; great grandchildren, Franklin Gray, Dylan Bond and Landen Bond; sisters, Bernice Henderson of Greensboro and Stella Lloyd of Wallace; brothers, S.D. Casteen of Wallace and Garland Casteen of Ashboro.

Funeral service will be 6:30 pm Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Buster Price and the Reverend Samuel Swinson officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night immediately following the funeral service at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace until 9:00 pm.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Gray Cemetery in Wallace with the Reverend Buster Price and the Reverend Samuel Swinson officiating.

Casketbearers will be Mrs. Gray's grandsons; Hank Bond, Joseph Gray, Anthony Sholar, Donnie Sholar, Mickey Sholar, Adam Gray and David Gray.
