Nicky Alan Barber, age 71, of Wallace left this earthly life on Monday, February 28, 2022, to be forever with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was born on April 29, 1950, in Onslow County, NC to the late William "Bill" A. and Pearl Irene Sutphin Barber. Nicky was also predeceased by his siblings, Shelby McGalliad, Larry Dean Barber, Phillip Morris Barber, Jerry Van Barber; special nephew John Cedron Barber and special niece Katie Barber.

Surviving to cherish his memory, is his best friend and loving wife of 50 years, Deborah "Debbie" Wood Barber; son, Philip Barber and wife Shannon of Wallace; daughter Jerri Lynn Odom and husband Stephen of Dunn; grandchildren, John Branden Craft and wife Julia, Savannah Nicole Pullen and husband Elijah, Joshua Wade Barber, Jack Alan Barber, Case Joseph Barber, Cooper Vaughn Barber, Jase William Blanchard and Kensley Brooke Blanchard; sisters, Judy Ann Barber of Goldsboro and Phyllis Doris Posik and numerous extended family and friends that loved Nicky dearly.

Nicky was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and brother.  He grew up on a truck farm.  During this time, he fell in love with God's beautiful work of nature.  Growing up on a farm, Nicky loved horses, especially his own horse, "Sunset". After high school Nicky joined the US Air Force, serving his country for 4 years. Upon leaving the Air Force Nicky worked as an insurance agent. Later he went to work with UPS and became a district manager until his retirement of 25 years.  Nicky worked hard and smart and was a great provider for his family. He was an encourager and an advisor. During his life Nicky took great pleasure mentoring others.  He was a very wise man, full of integrity and had a heart of gold. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Most of all, Nicky loved his Lord and had a relationship with Him that brought him through his long illness. Nicky is now able to breath better than ever and is now in the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ.  He will surely be missed; but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and love Nicky.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Wallace Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00p.m, one hour prior the funeral service at the church.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park following the funeral service.
