Norma Jean Hahn Erbland, 79, passed away December 29, 2021, after a brief illness.

She was born in Canton, Ohio, June 12, 1942, to the late Wayne and Pauline Hahn.

She is survived by her husband David of 55 years; daughter Shelley Erbland Labiosa of Virginia; grandchildren Hannah, Evalyn, Lillian, and Noah, all of Virginia. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Tim Hahn-Morrow of Canton, Ohio; sister-in-law Marianne Granter of Cleveland, Ohio; and brother-in-law Craig Erbland of Roswell, Georgia.

After graduating from Timken Vocational High School in 1960, Norma built a successful career as a licensed cosmetologist. The family moved to Wilmington, NC, in 1979, where Norma continued her career without missing a beat, even owning her own salon for a time. Dedicated to and passionate about her clients, Norma was still working part-time keeping the ladies beautiful at Brightmore of Wilmington through August 2021.

Norma is best known for her love of giraffes, shoe-shopping, and relaxing on the beach with friends and family. A proud founding member of Harbor United Methodist Church in Wilmington, she remained actively dedicated in various roles, including choir member, for 25 years.

A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m. March 6, 2022, at Harbor United Methodist Church, immediately followed by interment in the church Columbarium.

David and Shelley express their deepest gratitude for the cards, calls, and prayers throughout the past three months.
