Ola Mae
Pridgen
February 6, 2009
Ola Mae Pridgen, age 95, of Currie died Friday, February 6, 2009 at her home.
She was born August 26, 1913 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Rosa Pridgen Croom. She was also predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William Dudley Pridgen.
Mrs. Pridgen was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Ola Mae was a devote wife and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved being outdoors in all of God's creations - working in her flowers, tending her vegetable garden and best of all raking her yard. She was a diligent homemaker, a good cook and a wonderful baker of delectable pies, cakes and biscuits. Cherished memories of Ola Mae's warm heart and gentle spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene "Pete" and Delores Pridgen of Currie; and grandsons, Scott Pridgen and his wife, Sarah, of Currie and Delwin Pridgen of Currie.
Graveside funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Long Bluff Cemetery in Currie with The Rev. David Knowles officiating.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 2222 S. 17th St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
