Ollie Alberta \\"Peggy\\" Johnston, age 59, of Burgaw passed quietly from this earth to her eternal rest on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at her residence.

She was born December 14, 1950 in Plymouth, North Carolina and was one of 12 children of the late Delbert Lewis and Goldie Salter Lewis Adams.

Surviving are many who loved Peggy dearly, her son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Kristie Johnston of Watha; daughter and son-in-law, Misty Starlene and Donald Atkinson of Burgaw; grandchildren, Damian Johnston, Eliana Johnston, Devin Pickett, John Graziano II, and Jazmine Atkinson; sister, Gloria of Florida; brother, Tommy Lewis of Virginia; just like brothers, Shaun Causey and Ronnie Causey and his daughter, Ashley; CNA, caregiver and friend, "Ms. Ann"; and special friend, Cynthia Strickland Watkins.

Peggy loved her family with all her heart and showed it in many ways. She loved life, had the most joyful spirit and uplifted all those around her. Peace being made with her Maker and all of this world, she departed her earthly dwelling to a place of light and goodness with no illness or pain. Family and friends will miss Peggy and forever cherish her memory and all of the good times they shared.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the home of Peggy's son, Jesse and Kristie Johnston.
