Pamela Meeks Haire, age 53, of Atkinson passed away late Tuesday night, October 28, 2008 at Cape Fear Hospital.

She was born June 29, 1955 in Wilmington and was preceded in death by her father, Jack B. Meeks.

Pam graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a Batchelor of Science degree in Nursing and later continued her education receiving a Master's Degree from Mt. Olive College.

Mrs. Haire was a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Cape Fear Hospital.

Surviving are her husband of thirty-five years, Wayne Haire; daughter, Paige Caroline Haire, both of the home; mother, Betty Reynolds Meeks of Atkinson; brothers, David Meeks (Sandra) of Currie and Jimmy Meeks of Atkinson; and nephew, Keith Meeks of Currie and his children, Alyssa and Tyler. Also left to cherish Pam's memory are Wayne's family, sisters-in-law, Barbara Davis (Ron) of Rocky Point and Paula Marek (Billie) of Mission, Texas and their daughter, Kayla; nieces, Lisa Caison (Joe) and their children, Shane and Alex and Jan Stoudenmire and her daughter, Madison; nephew, Chris Elliott (Sherlon) and their sons, Adam and Braden and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pam was a devoted wife and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved family gatherings and sunny days. Pam blessed the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and caring.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of Betty Meeks.

Following the visitation on Friday a memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. also at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Reverend Wayne Bateman officiating.
