Pascal Swann
Camak
November 7, 1940 – June 30, 2024
Dr. Pascal Swann Camak died peacefully on June 30, 2024, at Hospice House Newport, NC. He was born in Greenville, SC on November 7, 1940. The family moved to Hendersonville, NC and again to Wilmington, NC when Pascal was eleven years old.
He graduated from New Hanover High School in 1959 and Wilmington College in 1961. After choosing a vocation in Dentistry, he graduated from The University of NC at Chapel Hill with a DDS degree. He married Rebecca J. Buie in 1963. They met at Wilmington College.
After dental school, they moved to Ft. Lewis, Washington where he served 2 years in the U. S. Army Dental Corp. He proudly did dental work for young men who were destined to serve in Vietnam.
After the Army, he and Rebecca returned to Wilmington, where he began dental practice in 1968. He practiced in Wilmington for 25 years and then retired to Pine Knoll Shores, NC.
He enjoyed outdoor sports his entire life including boating, fishing, and bird hunting. He and Rebecca traveled several times to Europe but their favorite place to be, was, at their home in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca, son, Stephen Neal Camak and wife Holly of Raleigh and daughter Elizabeth Burns and husband Josh of Swansboro, NC. Also, 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, Elle Geiger and another great grandchild, Wade Paussa, who is on his way and next month.
Pascal was pre-deceased by his mother, Helen Swann Camak and father, Pascal Meadors Camak and brother, David English Camak, II.
A graveside service will be conducted by clergy from First Methodist Church, Morehead City at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Oleander Memorial Gardens on Bradley Drive in Wilmington, NC.
We will all miss his kindness and the laughter he could bring to a room with his funny stories and memories of times gone by. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Morehead City, NC.

Dr. Camak's grandfather, David English Camak, founded the college in 1912.
