Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Watkins Futrell, age 58, of Burgaw passed from her earthly life to her heavenly home on Monday, April 10, 2012 at new Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born November 20, 1953 in Rose Hill, the daughter of the late Robert Allen and Nina Brown Watkins Ritner. Also lovingly remembered are her brothers, Edwin Bradley and Robert A. Watkins;and sister, Helen Elaine Watkins all who preceded Pat in death.

Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Norman Harvey Futrell; daughter, Patricia Summerlin (Wayne) of Burgaw; son, Norman "Buck" Futrell, Jr. of Burgaw; grandchildren, Carley Futrell, David Futrell and Ethan Futrell; sister, Marie Blackwell of Greenevers; and several aunts, uncles and cousins all who loved Pat dearly.

Pat loved her family and was the best wife, mom, nanny, sister and friend anyone could ask for. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. Pat's bright smile and joyful spirit will always be cherished and remembered.

Graveside funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012 at Riverview Memorial Park with Evangelist Norman Futrell, Jr., The Rev. Dr. Andy Davis, The Rev. Gary Manning and Harvey Futrell officiating.

Casketbearers will be L. J. Ezzell, Linwood Casteen, A. J. McCoy, Harry McCoy, Brad Hearn and David Futrell.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
