Patricia Macmillan
Witter
Jul 26, 1943 — Sep 11, 2017
Patricia MacMillan Witter, 74, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Monday, September 11, 2017 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC.
She was born July 26, 1943 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Moyer and Audrienne Moore MacMillan. She was also predeceased by her brother Joe Moore.
Patricia was a dedicated member of Grace Covenant Church in Beulaville, NC.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 47 years, Dave Witter of the home; her son, Scott Witter and wife Vanessa of Los Angeles, CA; her daughter, Laura Witter of Raleigh; sister, LuAnn Rivenbark and husband A.C. of Wallace; "special sister", Nancy Tisinger; cousins, Walda Eason, Brenda Teachey, Dee MacMillan, Roger Pearce and Dave Pinelli and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
"Pat", as she was affectionately known, was a loving wife and caring mother and sister who loved her family dearly. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace, "an instrument of God's love on this earth." She enjoyed music, dancing and was creative with her hands and her humor. Pat's favorite time of the year was Christmas when she baked her famous sugar cookies and sand dunes for family and friends. Most of all, Pat loved her Lord and her church. She was an avid student of God's Word and lived her life as an example of His Word. During the years, Pat taught Sunday School and Bibles Studies as well as authored the book, "Old Roots and Grafted Shoots". She was a strong, yet gentle and loving presence to all who were blessed to know her. Pat will surely be missed but treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Wade Pope and Pastor Jim Pope officiating.
Burial will follow the service in Clay Hill Cemetery, Rose Hill, NC.
Casketbearers will be Bryan Rivenbark, Allie Rivenbark, Brad Rivenbark, Michael Eason, Matthew Eason and Patrick Eason.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:00pm, prior to the service at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial gifts be sent to American Red Cross of Cape Fear, 1102 South 16th St. Wilmington, NC 28401 or Grace Covenant Church Missions Fund, PO Box 155, Beulaville, NC 28518.
