Paul "Pete" Joseph Klutz, Jr., age 81, of Burgaw died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at his residence.

He was born January 29, 1928 in Brunswick County and was the son of the late Paul Joseph Klutz, Sr. and Stella Mintz Klutz.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ursula Victoria Link Klutz of the home; daughter, Victoria A. Mintz (Robert) of Spring Hope; sons, James E. Kurtz (Susan) of Leland, Ronald V. Klutz of Norfolk, Va., Michael W. Kurtz (Fawn Goodman) and Daniel A. Kurtz (Jane Thompson) all of Raleigh; grandchildren, Heidi Kurtz, Denise Kurtz, Walter Kloth and Morgan Mintz; brothers, Larry Klutz of Brunswick, Ga., Herman Klutz, Bill Klutz and Richard Klutz all of Leland; sisters, Bonnie McGlaughlin of Homestead, Fla., Glenna Marinaro, Helen Clark and Jane Reynolds all of Leland; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Klutz served his country honorably both in the US Army and the US Navy during WW II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era, receiving many commendation and service metals for his valor. He was a faithful member of Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church.

Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church with The Rev. J. C. Thompson-Young officiating.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am Monday, June 29, 2009 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with full military honors accorded by US Army Honor Guard.

In Lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church, 7450 US Hwy 117, Rocky Point, NC 28457.
