Obituary

Paul Ward, age 81, of Burgaw passed peacefully from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Huntington Health Care of Burgaw.

He was born September 5, 1929 in Columbus County and was the son of the late Emory and Georgia Todd Ward. Also lovingly remembered are his daughter, Paula W. Kirkman; twin sister, Pauline Ward Blackburn and brother, Earl Ward.

Mr. Ward is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Lenora Evans Ward; son, James Paul Ward (Agnes) of Burgaw; daughters, Brenda Krynicki (Douglas) of Rocky Point, Linda Brown (Ephraim) of Leland and Vickie Ward (Dee) of Rocky Point; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Mac Ward ( Vickie) of Shallotte; sisters, Earlene Stanley of Molly, Velma Worley of Clarendon, Dessie Lee Richardson (Daryl) and Eunice Mae Richardson both of Tabor City; and son-in-law, Steven Kirkman of Burgaw.

A retired carpenter and farmer, Paul was known and loved by many people in the Pender County area. He was a member of Pleasant Meadow Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with The Reverend E. J. Highsmith officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Casketbearers will be Dee Ward, Douglas Krynicki, Christopher Quick, Paul Johnston, Doug Peterson and Steve Kirkman. Honorary bearer will be E. K. Brown.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
