Paula Ward Kirkman, age 47, of Rocky Point went to meet her Lord on Monday, June 22, 2009.

She was born March 20, 1962 in Whiteville, NC and was the daughter of Paul and Lenora Evans Ward of Burgaw.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her devoted husband, Steven D. Kirkman of the home; her loving children, Christopher P. Quick and Elizabeth "Beth" P. Quick, both of the home; sisters, Linda Brown and husband, E.K. of Leland, Brenda Krynicki and husband, Doug and Vickie Ward and husband, Dee all of Rocky Point; brother, James Paul Ward and wife, Agnes of Burgaw and her canine companion, Bell.

Paula was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved the beach, music and classic movies. With her witty personality and good nature, she always made others laugh and feel good about themselves. She taught those of us who loved her to love each other. Paula will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor E.J. Highsmith and Pastor Cliff Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum, Watha.

Casketbearers will be H.L. Evans, Paul Johnson, Michael Karr, Douglas Krynicki, Douglas Peterson and Dee Ward.

The family will receive friends 7:00 to 9:00 pm Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
