Paula Chewning Walls, age 58, of Greenville and formerly of Burgaw died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Duplin County.

She was born May 15, 1951 in Rocky Mount, the daughter of the late William Thomas and Erleene Zimmerman Chewning.

Surviving are her husband, George A. Walls; sisters, Mary Sue C. Peterson (Dennis) of Burgaw and Rhonda Chewning-Blanford (David Miller) of Wallace; niece, Caroline N. Rankin; nephew, Robert R. Rankin and many extended family and special friends.

Paula is remembered for her love of family and for her vivacious personality as she never met a stranger. She contributed greatly to Pender County Government, the senior citizens of Pender County and to her community. Cherished memories of Paula will remain in our hearts.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. with The Rev. Danny Justice officiating.

Inurnment of Paula Chewning Walls will be private.
