Obituary

Pauline Smith Rivenbark, 75, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from Golden Care Rest Home.

She was born October 28, 1937 in Duplin County, the daughter of the late N. Bernie and Betsy Dail Smith. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Rivenbark; her son, Willie Gray Rivenbark; sisters, Bessie Lanier, Lurine Register and Bertha Hunter and brothers, Ray Smith, Rubin Smith and Hallie Smith.

Mrs. Rivenbark was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving is her devoted children, Scottie Rivenbark and wife, Susan, Tracy Rivenbark and Brian "Skeeter" Rivenbark and wife, Gwen, all of Wallace; grandchildren, Amanda Whaley, Matthew Rivenbark, Adam Whaley, Dylan Rivenbark, Haley Rivenbark, Hannah Rivenbark, Maggianna Rivenbark, Hillary Rivenbark and Tabitha Rivenbark Smith; great grandchildren, Marleigh Sidbury, Julia Smith, Leah Smith, Jaxon Smith and Laynee Smith; sister, Bernice Cavenaugh of Wallace and special friends, Margaret Woodcock and Annie Pearl Bray.

Pauline was a loving mother and caring grandmother and sister. She found great joy in the simplest things, but her greatest joy was family, especially her grandchildren. She was a southern lady in the very finest of sense of that expression. Before her declining health, Pauline enjoyed shopping and visiting those who were not able to be up and about. She was always thinking of others before herself and willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. As a devoted wife of a farmer and food store owner, Pauline helped run Rivenbark Discount Store with her husband for over 50 years. She will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Pauline.
