Pauline Thompson Wright, 90, of Rocky Point passed gently from her earthly life on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Davis Health Care Center.

She was born November 10, 1922 in Live Oak, FL and was the daughter of the late Benjamin E. and Toy Walker Thompson. Also preceding Pauline in death is her husband, James Wilbur Wright, Sr. and daughter, Laura Ann Wright-Cloyd.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Wilma Lee Wright of Wilmington; son, James Wilbur Wright, Jr. of Wilmington; grandchildren, Caroline Rhodes and husband, Bruce Baucom of Nashville, TN, William Rhodes and wife, Edyta of Raleigh, Paula Rhodes of Eugene, OR, Larry White and wife, Misty of San Antonio, TX, Mary Elizabeth Matthews and husband, Brent of Hampstead, Brian White and wife, Kelly of Rocky Point, James Wilbur Wright III of Burgaw, and Aprilyn Cloyd of Wilmington; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Sidbury and husband, Charles of Rocky Point; brothers, William Thompson and wife, Jan of Tampa, FL and Hartford Thompson of Pensacola, FL; and many extended family and friends.

Pauline was a dedicated Christian and a member of Rocky Point United Methodist Church. Many remember Pauline's skill and expertise being a beautician for many years.

Pauline was a true Southern lady filled with grace and charm. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Pauline's greatest joy was her relationship with people. She never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing her home with family and friends of all ages. There was always room for one more at her table and she delighted serving both food and her version of Southern hospitality, wit and wisdom. She enjoyed her profession as a beautician and, at home to surround herself with her beloved flowers. Cherished memories of Pauline will remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Rocky Point United Methodist Church with The Rev. E. J. Highsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Pike Creek Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Brian White, Larry White, Jamie Wright, Bruce Baucom, Chris Blake and Brent Matthews.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church until hour of the service.
